In 2018, USAID/Serbia launched the four-year, $8.8 million CFG Activity to improve Serbia?s private sector competitiveness through strengthening the business enabling environment and addressing regulatory constraints to private sector development, ultimately to improve conditions for broad-based, inclusive economic growth. Within this context, the CFG Activity is designed to engage SMEs and other stakeholders in open and effective dialogue to improve the business enabling environment, thereby increasing overall confidence in the private sector and building the foundation for increased private sector competitiveness and investment. Specifically, the CFG Activity aims to generate (1) an improved business environment and related administrative efficiency in selected areas and (2) improved SME access to finance.
In 2021, IMPAQ International (IMPAQ) was awarded a contract from USAID/Serbia to conduct a final performance evaluation of the CFG Activity. IMPAQ conducted a rigorous utilization-focused evaluation that integrates quantitative and qualitative methods to enrich USAID?s understanding of the evaluation questions and provided USAID/Serbia with actionable recommendations to improve the efficiency and sustainability of its economic growth programming moving forward.
